Jiamusi University is located in Jiamusi city, the first place to welcome sunrise in China and the charming city famous for its optimum ecological environment. It would be pleasure to study here with crystal water, blue sky and clean air. The university was founded in 1947, and with 70 years’ development and construction, the university has found its way into the list of high-level universities given top priority by Heilongjiang Government.

Covering an area of 1.31 million square meters with the construction area of 576000 square meters, the university has 25 colleges and 82 research institutes. In the case of specialty settings, the disciplines include 11 fields: Literature, Science, Engineering, Medicine, Economics, Education, Law, History, Management, Agriculture and Art. It has 2 First Level Authorized Doctor’s Degree subjects, 11 First Level Master's Degree subjects, 5 Second Level Master's Degree subjects, 5 Authorized Professional Master Degree Programs, 1 Postdoctoral Scientific Research Center, 3 Post Doctoral Scientific Research Workstation and 76 majors in Undergraduate Degree. The university has three affiliated hospitals and one university hospital.

The university, with its strong and qualified teaching faculty, holds a total staff of 4118, including 1538 with senior titles, 8 Provincial Level Teaching Masters, 2 Provincial Level Excellent Post-Graduate Tutor Teams, 2 Provincial Technology Creating Teams. Also, there is a set of distinguished Visiting Professors and Invited Specialist Professors with academicians from “Both Academies”, a Host of Yangtze River and Longjiang Chair Professors. The University holds 22244 Full-time Undergraduates, 1506 postgraduates, 822 international students and 13569 students pursuing Continuing Education from 31 provinces, cities or Autonomous regions nationwide, as well as a fixed capital valued over 1.428 Billion Yuan, including 302 Million Yuan worth of teaching facilities and a collection of 2.5833 Million Library books.

The university has been adhering to the open model of running a university and has established friendly cooperation with 44 colleges and universities from 11 countries and regions including Russia, the United States, Britain, South Korea and Japan. With the scholarship project for foreign students' study commissioned by the Chinese government, the university has enrolled foreign students from 47 countries and regions.

Program Introduction

Scholarship Program

1. Students Criteria of Scholarship  

It is offered to the students who apply to study Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in Jiamusi University.

1.1 Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants under the age of 25 must have High School Degree with excellent grades.

1.2 Scholarship for Master’s Degree: Applicants under the age of 35 must have Bachelor’s Degree.

1.3 Scholarship for Doctoral Degree: Applicants under the age of 40 must have Master’s Degree with excellent grades. (The applicants cannot be studying in China while applying.)

2. The Documents to be submitted for Scholarships:

1)  “Application Form for the Chinese government Scholarships”

This form is available for download on the official website of China Scholarship Council.http://laihua.csc.edu.cn Agency No: 10222

“Application Form for the Heilongjiang Provincial Government Scholarships”

This from is uniformly issued by the university. Application form should be completed either in English or Chinese.

2)  The notarized highest academic certificate obtained must be in English or Chinese. If the applicant is a student, the certificate from the school is needed along with the English or Chinese translation script.

3)  Study or Research Plan in China.

4)  Two recommendation letters from professor or associate professor.

5) Foreigner Physical Examination Record” filled in English.

6Passport copy.

3. The Content of Scholarships  

3.1 Chinese Government Scholarship includes the fees of registration, tuition, lodging, experiment, practical training, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance.

3.2 Heilongjiang Provincial Government Scholarship includes the fees of registration, tuition, experiment, practical training, basic teaching materials, lodging and medical insurance. (Traveling cost and living expenses are not included.)

Self-supporting Students Program

1. Recruiting Students Criteria

1 Study for Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants under the age of 25 must have High School Degree with excellent grades.

2 Study for Master’s Degree: Applicants under the age of 35 must have Bachelor’s Degree with excellent grades.

3 Study for Doctoral Degree: Applicants under the age of 45 must have Master’s Degree with excellent grades.

4 General scholars and short-term training students.

NoteFor those under the age of eighteen and whose parents are not living in China, their parents must entrust a foreign resident in China or a Chinese resident as the guardian and provide certain written certificate.

3Rates for School Housing

Note: Upon one-time payment for an academic year, lodging fees charge is for 10 months only.

4Insurance

600RMB/year, 300RMB/semester International students should purchase insurance in accordance with national relevant regulations. Those who fail to purchase insurance on time will not be recruited. Those who have already studied in the university but fail to purchase insurance on time will be expelled or will not be registered for the new term.

5)Fees for resident permit, learning materials etc will be paid according to the actual cost.

NoteIf the student discontinues schooling or graduates in advance, the tuition and accommodation fees should be charged monthly and the remaining fees will be returned according to the actual learning period.
