President Meng Shangjiu and delegations visited the University of Wollongong in Australia

At the invitation of University of Wollongong in Australia, the president Meng Shangjiu made friendly visits to the school with other delegations from 23rd to 27th in April.



During this visiting period, president Meng Shangjiu had cordial and friendly talks with Brett Lovegrove—the executive director of Wollongong university on behalf on Jiamusi University. Both sides expressed their wish to extend this friendly exchange in academic communication,exchanging visit of teachers and students,collaborative teaching and the overseas study program for undergraduate students and postgraduates and both sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding between Jiamusi University in China and the University of Wollongong in Australia. After the meeting, the delegation members visited some faculties, departments as well as the practical training base for rehabilitation medicine in the University of Wollongong and had further discussion about specific cooperation matters.


Founded in 1951, the University of Wollongong is in the city of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. The university is one of the ten research-oriented universities in Australia. As a comprehensive school, the university has many top-level subjects such as IT, computer science and engineering. What’s more, the university own the largest ICT scientific research center and is one of the largest institution for information technology and telecommunication research in the south hemisphere. The visit laid a solid foundation for further cooperation and clarify the goal for further collaboration. All these efforts effectively promote the exchange and cooperation between two universities and open a new chapter for the cooperation between Jiamusi University and the University of Wollongong.

Leaders from the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine as well as the International Exchange and Cooperate Centre accompanied the president throughout the visit.
